City Works Day is scheduled each year to support and usher in the American Public Works Association's (APWA) proclaimed "National Public Works Week," which is observed in May. In 2018, National Public Works Week is scheduled from May 20 through May 26.
As established by APWA, the 2018 National Public Works Week theme is captured by the phrase "The Power of Public Works" and reflects the idea that Public Works has many facets that positively impact modern civilization.
City Works Day is a free annual event and is traditionally held on the third Wednesday of May.
